Willoree Deleary

Willoree DeLeary, 82, longtime area resident, died peacefully Sunday, December 1, 2019, at Solvay Hospice House in Duluth, MN.
She was born in Burnsville, NC, August 7, 1937, the daughter of Murph Higgins and Mae Bailey.

Willoree enjoyed her years spent as a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Her greatest treasure was her family.

She is survived by her daughters, Glenda (John) Gibson, Superior, WI, Sondra Green, Lewiston, MI, Teresa (Thomas) Lefler, Zebulon, NC, Connie Douglas, Brownstown, MI, and Kim (John) Maynard, South Range, WI; twenty-five grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; sisters, Betty (Lawrence) Stoneburner, Risingsun, OH, and Shirley (Aaron) Stoddard, of Washington; brother, James Edwards, of Washington; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Murph Higgins, and Mae Edwards; sons, Michael and Randy Gibson; first husband and father of her children, Garland Gibson; second husband, Raymond DeLeary; and brothers, Fred Tipton, and Tom Edwards.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 PM, Friday, December 6, 2019, at the Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home, 1209 East 5th Street, Superior. Visitation will resume at 12:00 PM, Saturday, December 6, 2019, at the funeral home, and will continue until the 1:00 PM funeral service. Willoree’s son-in-law, John Maynard will officiate.

Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery.
