Yvonne "Karen" Roebken

July 1, 1940 — August 22, 2022

With love of God and family Yvonne “Karen” Roebken, 82, Port Wing, WI resident, died peacefully Monday, August 22, 2022, at New Perspectives Senior Living in Superior WI. She was born July 1, 1940, in Milwaukee, WI, the daughter of Russell and Yvonne (Lundgren) Krauss.

She graduated from high school in Cedarburg, WI and attended the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She was united in marriage to Arthur Roebken, January 6, 1962. They celebrated sixty years of marriage before her passing.

Karen worked in the home building and real estate market in Ohio for 25 years. She was a member of the Akron Home Builders Association and had a special interest in supporting the Make-A-Wish Foundation. At the time of her retirement in 2002 she was a real estate agent with DeHoff Realtors in North Canton, OH.

Following her retirement and relocation to Port Wing she enjoyed volunteering her time in community service. Her efforts included the establishment of the Port Wing Business Association and subsequent website development. She was keenly interested in her families Port Wing heritage resulting in her work with the Port Wing Area Historical Society and Museum. In support of the Bayfield County Tourism Karen’s efforts and love for the south shore can be seen through the Wisconsin Lake Superior “Scenic Byway” which follows 70 miles of Wisconsin State Highway 13 along the southern shore of Lake Superior of which she was an active founding partner and contributor.

Karen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister who will be dearly missed by her beloved husband, Arthur; sons, Andrew (Tammy) Roebken, Mogadore, OH, and Stephan (Marni) Roebken, Centerville, OH; grandchildren, Hamilton, Hudson, Harrison,  Alex (Olivia) Roebken, and Brooke (Matt) Morrison; great-granddaughters, Harper Grace, Palmer Jo, great-grandson Maddox, sisters, Sherie Kresky, Port Wing, WI, and Wendy (George) Santamaria, Valley Center, CA; brother, John (Susan) Krauss, Grafton, WI, and nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

In addition to her love for family many cherished friendships were established through the years in Cedarburg, WI, Fairfield, Ohio, the Canton/Akron, OH area as well as Port Wing.

A Time of Remembrance and Celebration of Karen’s Life will be held at a later date.

Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Port Wing, WI.

The family would like to extent a sincere thank you to the staff and caregivers at New Perspective Senior Living Bettys Harbor Unit for their professional and compassionate care provided Karen over the past 3 years.
